Employees at the Koehler Group have raised EUR 1,000 in donations by acquiring the popular art calendar for the year 2023. Kai Furler, CEO of the Koehler-Group, presented the donations to Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V., which will use the money for the heart’s desire ambulance. "It is great that the Heart's Desire ambulance makes unforgettable last hours possible. For the people and their relatives, these experiences are invaluable" says Kai Furler.

Donating for the art calendar

The yearly calendars from Koehler Paper have been extremely popular for many years now. The 2023 art calendar was produced in collaboration with Oberkirch-based artist Bastian Fiala and mainly focuses on the wildlife of Africa and portraits in his own unique style. He paints realistic faces combined with elements of pop art and abstract palette knife techniques. By making a donation, Koehler employees could obtain a copy of the calendar filled with Bastian Fiala’s art. Management rounded up the donations to EUR 1,000.

Proceeds benefit the heart’s desire ambulance

The heart’s desire ambulance is run by the Malteser organization to fulfill the last wishes of terminally ill patients by bringing them to a location of their choice. Fifteen specially trained Malteser volunteers transport terminally ill patients in specially equipped vehicles to provide them with a respectful and meaningful moment in which to say goodbye and to support loved ones by fulfilling a last wish. All this is provided at no cost to the patients or their families. The heart’s desire ambulance is financed exclusively through donations and kept running by the hard work and commitment of the Malteser volunteers.
