Koehler Paper Opens Its Doors for the Lions Club Offenburg Simplicius
Koehler Paper recently gave visitors a plant tour which offered them the chance to have a look behind the scenes of its paper production facility in Kehl and learn more about one of the Ortenaukreis region’s largest companies in the process. In April, 17 members of the Lions Club Offenburg Simplicius were given a company presentation and an hour-long tour of the latest company production line, production line 8, consisting of paper machine 8 and coating machine 8. Volker Oestreich, Head of Construction Planning – Central Plant Engineering, Andreas Walter, Team Leader Mechanical Planning – Central Plant Engineering, and Georg Streif, Production Coordinator at Koehler Paper’s Kehl site showed visitors around the paper production facility.
Visitors Inspired by Imposing Machines
Production line 8, which was commissioned in 2019, is used to produce the “NexFlex®” flexible packaging paper as an alternative to plastic packaging, and the environmentally friendly “Blue4est®” thermal paper, which is used for checkout receipts. Koehler Paper invested 300 million euros in the construction of the new production line, which represents the largest single investment in the company’s long history.
The feedback from the visitors was overwhelmingly positive. The Lions Club members were particularly impressed by the imposing size of the machines.
